【讲座标题】Global coal power generation in a policy driven carbon constrained world: technology development, demonstration and deployment
【主 讲 人】Andrew Minchener OBE
Dr. Andrew Minchener OBE is a Fellow of the Energy Institute and a Chartered Engineer and is the General Manager of the IEA Clean Coal Centre now. He has over 35 years experiences in fossil fuel and biomass/waste utilization, systems development, energy and environmental consultancy, and contract research and development, with particular emphasis on clean coal and CCS issues in Europe and the Far East. He has undertaken numerous overseas assignments, including over 160 missions to the People’s Republic of China. With effect from July 2013, he became the General Manager of the IEA Clean Coal Centre, being responsible for all aspects of the Centre’s activities and with special emphasis on maintaining a strong international profile for all aspects of clean coal utilization.
Main academic achievements include:
(1)Provision of expert advice to the European Commission, assessing a major collaborative project on establishing a fluidized bed gasification system suitable for using high ash coal (2013-2014).
(2)Team leader and CCS Expert for a capacity building and technical assistance project to advance the development of oxyfuel combustion in China. This formed Component B of the ADB TA 8133 People’s Republic of China ‘Road map for carbon capture and storage demonstration and deployment’ project (2013-2015).Among others.
Under the increasingly strict environmental constraints, low-carbon energy development has become an important issue of sustainable development which is widely attended around the world, especially after Paris Agreement was officially launched in 2016. Dr.Andrew Minchener OBE will have a comprehensive introduction and outlook of technology of clean coal utilization and coal-fire power with CCS from a global perspective combined with his effective work experiences. What’s more, the IEA’s effort and achievement in promoting clean utilization of coal in recent years will also be shown in detail and more excellent cases will be presented.
